Rode home on fixed last night, a grovel into a South Westerly gale!

This morning a bright blue sky was a welcome change. Rode gears up Dayhouse Bank and on into the City on Route 5. The gale was still blowing strong but this time assisted.

For the second time in three weeks I came offf the bike this morning. The first time was on diesel on a corner, this time a dog ran under my front wheel in Cannon Hill Park and down I came. I seem to have escaped with a 'skinned' elbow and sore hip (again - it was more or less the same the last time but the hip isn't so bad today). The two OAP's with the dog were very upset (not for the dog suprisingly) the old chap looked very worried and I was concerned that he actually might have suffered more from the shock than I did. Needless to say the dog was fine! Gingerly rode the rest of the way into work after collecting my broken rear light, water bottle and having straightened the handlebars. Oh joy.

My 'Gate' has appeared on the Fixed Gear Gallery web site (http://www.fixedgeargallery.com/2007/feb/RobHidderley.htm),
looks good I think. Joins my other bikes:

Supposed to be very wet this morning but just damp and foggy. Fixed in all the way, guess I'm going to suffer this evening!

Bright, windy and showers this morning. Colder than I expected but at least a bit of sunshine!

Went to Manchester to watch the last round of the World Cup Track cycling at the velodrome - three days of excellent racing. One or two nasty crashes. Some great wins by Pendleton and Hoy, also good to see Arnaud Tournant back to his winning ways! Always leaves me inspired and wanting to ride, just a shame about the horrible hard seating!
